Chick Pics!!

This year's Chick Pics did not disappoint.  Chick Pics Season is one of my family's favorite times of the year.  My kiddos LOVE having the chicks visit us for the week.  They give each chick a name, they help me feed, water, and clean their enclosure.  If we could have chickens in our neighborhood, my kids wouldn't hesitate to keep these little guys.

My first Chick Pic family was so fun.  Big sister was all about the chicks.  Little brother?  Well, not so much this year.  He did try his best to hold a chick, but he just wasn't comfortable and that's ok.  We still got some sweet shots of him by himself and with his sister.

This image is one of my favorites.  So sweet!
And, can you get over how adorable their outfits are?!!

If she could have carried that chick around on her shoulder all day, she would have!

 This sweet face!!

This is another one of my favorites!

O.N.E.

This sweet little thing turned O.N.E.!  If you have kids, you know what a huge milestone this is.  Your baby is O.N.E. year old.  You have O.N.E. full year of being a parent under your belt.   You have been a family for O.N.E. whole year.  When you think about all that happens in that first year of a child's life, for the baby, for Mom and Dad, for the entire family, it's mind blowing!

I had such a great day spending time with Baby F and her family.  I hung around for a few hours and got to soak up her sweetness.  Watching how proud her family is of her was so special.  Baby F is loved more than she could ever know.

It was an honor to capture this very special birthday.  I loved every minute of it!

In Honor of Mother's Day

I'm still catching up on my holiday season blogging.  So, in honor of Mother' Day, I want to share this beautiful family's photos.  I have known these ladies, a gorgeous Mom and her three equally gorgeous daughters, for a long time...since elementary school!
They asked me to photograph their extended family while everyone was in town for the holidays.  Some traveling from as far as Minnesota.  The stars aligned and the weather was beautiful, the kids were super cooperative, and we captured some beautiful memories.  It couldn't have been a better day!

Thank you, G family!!

How gorgeous are these ladies?
I mean seriously, they look like the are models in a Dove soap commercial.  Drop.Dead.Gorgeous.

Midweek Randomness: Banana Bread

What does a photographer do when she has squishy brown bananas?  She makes banana bread, then takes photos of her kid eating it.

One of my favorite things to bake is banana bread.  A long time ago I found a super yummy recipe for Banana Walnut Bread on foodnetwork.com.  It's my go-to recipe for old bananas.

The Banana Walnut Bread recipe calls for three very ripe bananas, but I've made it with only two and it comes out just fine.  Also, I only ever use raw walnuts, not toasted.  Again, it comes out just fine.

Try it out one day, then photograph your kid eating it.  You won't regret it.  Really.

The J Family

It had been a little while since I'd seen this cute family.  The boys have grown!!  They were typical boys.  They would have much rather play with the Spanish moss, than have their pictures taken.  However, we made it quick and they did a great job.  Thank you, J Family, for giving me the opportunity to capture a memory for you.

The light off the lake was magical!

Such a handsome little man!

Channeling my inner Tom Marshall with this one.  Love the look of concentration.

Little Man in a Big Orange Grove

This ADORABLE little man kicked off my first ever Orange Grove Mini Sessions.  I L.O.V.E.D. this location.  It was totally "Florida Fall".  The weather was beautiful, the sun was about to set, and this little man enjoyed exploring the grove.  I did, too, quite frankly.

I will be sure to offer Orange Grove Mini's again.  Orange you glad? (heehee!!!)

The D Family!

I met up with this sweet family in early November.  The weather was hot, but the golden light from the sunset was just stunning.  These boys would have loved nothing more than to run around and play in the park, but they really were rock stars for this shoot.  I asked them to do something and they did it.  It made my job super easy!
We all enjoyed ourselves that evening and we got some amazing images out of it.
