A Day {July 19, 2016} In The Life Of...

This past Tuesday, I shot A Day In The Life Of my daughter.  It was one of the best things I've done with my camera in a long time.  I loved it so much, that I am going to create a photo book just for the images from this day.

As I went through each photo, it reminded me how precious time is with our kids.  It's very easy to get caught up in the craziness of life.  Meals to cook, laundry to do, a house to clean, errands to run, but to set aside a whole day to be conscious of my daughter and her activities was really pretty cool.  I thought the process might be kind of difficult to do, as I would have to carry my camera around everywhere we went.  It actually went pretty smoothly.

July 19, 2016 was just an ordinary day, but I will cherish these photos immensely.  I plan to shoot A Day In The Life Of my son one day this week and I'm very much looking forward to it. I also encourage you to do the same.  You don't have to have a fancy camera, use your cell phone. Photograph your child, your husband, your dog, anyone, from the moment they wake up to the moment they go to bed.  Documenting the ordinary things that occur in daily will provide priceless memories. I promise you, you won't regret it.

More Chick Pics!!

Baby B has stolen my heart.  He is just so precious and sweet.  Last year, he was all about the plastic eggs.  This year, he was more interested in the chicks!

Scroll through these images and soak up the sweetness.  You will see why I had to resist the urge to take him home with me after the session!

This face gets me every single time!

Midweek Randomness: Daddy Daughter Dance, McDonald's, and a dollar store

Near the end of the school year, my children's school threw their very first Daddy Daughter Dance.  It was the sweetest thing ever.  The dance was Candyland themed and all the decorations were candy. They had gumdrop lights, giant Sugar Daddy props, Christmas trees decorated with colorful candy, and much more. The girls even got to win prizes of candy decorated cakes, cookies, and cupcakes.  I donated a Bubble Gum Cake, but that is blog post for another day.

The dance got rave reviews from both Daddies and Daughters!

Can they get any sweeter?!

The same night, the school threw a Mommy Son event.  The event was at Chick Fil A and the theme was teaching etiquette for little boys.  The Mommies and Sons would have to dress up,  the boys would give their Mom flowers, hold the doors for her, pull out her chair, etc.  I decided to skip this option and let RJ choose what he wanted to do, himself.  I felt like since the Daddy Daughter Dance was focused completely on the girls, I wanted to do something that focused completely on RJ.

I let him choose the activities for the night.  He requested dinner at McDonald's and bowling afterwards.

On the way to McDonald's, I could tell he was tired.  In the middle of our dinner, he told me he didn't want to go bowling anymore.  He just wanted to go home and watch a movie.  I asked him if it was ok to stop at the dollar store to buy some decorations for our neighborhood's 4th of July bike parade.  He was ok with that, then we went home and snuggled up on the couch for a movie.  It turned out to be a great evening for all four of us and I can't wait to do it again next year.

My Kiddos Monday!

 My chicken whisperer!

This picture sums up my kids pretty well.

I just love them and the relationship they have!
We emphasize that they are a team.  They need to lookout for each other always.  They get that.  I'm blessed!

Chick Pics!!

I just LOVE photographing these little girls.  They are always so sweet and they are super easy to work with.  They loved the baby chicks, too.  When they arrived at the park, they made a beeline right for the chicks.  They gave them each their own names and wanted to hold them right away.

And, can I just take a minute to acknowledge their dresses?  Their Mom always has them in the best outfits.  I mean, seriously!  Purple is so gorgeous on both of them!!

This image is my favorite.  Their sister love is certainly shining through!

They probably could have sat here with the chicks all day!

Love!

 Sweetness!

 I'm partial to Strawberry Frecklefaces!!

Chick Pics!!

This year's Chick Pics did not disappoint.  Chick Pics Season is one of my family's favorite times of the year.  My kiddos LOVE having the chicks visit us for the week.  They give each chick a name, they help me feed, water, and clean their enclosure.  If we could have chickens in our neighborhood, my kids wouldn't hesitate to keep these little guys.

My first Chick Pic family was so fun.  Big sister was all about the chicks.  Little brother?  Well, not so much this year.  He did try his best to hold a chick, but he just wasn't comfortable and that's ok.  We still got some sweet shots of him by himself and with his sister.

This image is one of my favorites.  So sweet!
And, can you get over how adorable their outfits are?!!

If she could have carried that chick around on her shoulder all day, she would have!

 This sweet face!!

This is another one of my favorites!
