Orange County Fire Rescue Station 40

This past holiday season, I was contacted by Orange County.  Each year they hold an Adopt a Fire Station event, where families, neighborhoods, churches, and businesses can adopt a Fire Station on a certain day.  The group then brings the first responders meals, desserts, and other fun things.  As many of you know first responders are very dear to me.  It was such an honor to see these men and women being appreciated.  They deserved all the goodies, caroling, crafts, entertainment, and holiday cheer that they got.  I hope I have the privilege of capturing these blessings again this year.

This post is about Station 40.  The sweet lady in the pink shirt actually works for Orange County, herself.  Every year she adopts a couple of Fire Stations and cooks meals for them.  I loved how she brought them a bowl of fruit and nuts.  It was a reminder of my childhood and visiting my grandparents.  The holidays meant there was always a bowl of fruit and nuts on the table for guests to snack on while they were visiting. That simple gesture reminded me there are some really nice people in this world.
