The J Family

This Momma is a friend of mine from grammar school.  Grammar school!!  Can you believe it?  It's very cool to be able to photograph her beautiful family.  Her little girl was a sweet princess and her little boy...well, he played very coy, but I could tell he liked me.  He kept sneaking me little tiny smiles.

The F Family

This family has been so supportive of me and my business.  I love photographing them.
All three of them are so photogenic, they are always fashionably coordinated, and helloooo...can little man get any more adorable?

My Halloween Goblins

Halloween night is always so hectic, so this year I dressed the kids up a few weeks before to get some good pictures of their costumes.  They loved dressing up and the people was saw in the park got such a kick out of them.

Grace wanted to be a Monarch Butterfly.  Her teachers last year, Mrs. Kathryn and Mrs. Liz, raised several butterflies with their class.  Grace has been obsessed with them ever since.  We even have our own plants and raised many Monarch's over the summer.

RJ's love of tools and all things machine inspired his costume, a construction worker.  The bonus...I didn't have to buy a thing!!

I hope everyone had a fun All Hallow's Eve!!!

What to wear?

While I didn't have time to come up with my own fashion guide for this season's holiday shoots, I have found some great ideas on Pinterest.  As, you know Pinterest, is the mother of all websites for ideas...for ANYTHING!!  I snagged a few ideas, from other photographers, to show you how you can put together a fantastic look without being so matchy matchy.  Pick one or two colors, then build the outfits around them.  Easy, peasy!

The colors shown here are reds and greens, however you DO NOT need to stick to these typical holiday colors.  Blues, purples and yellows look fabulous, too.  Sometimes thinking outside the box makes for beautiful photos.

(Thank you to the photographers below for putting these style guides together and sharing them for all to see!!)

A Bride and her "Prince"

I had the opportunity to photograph a beautiful young bride AFTER her wedding.  It was a really fun photo shoot because there was no wedding day stress.  The bride had already had her big day, she was back from her honeymoon, and was settling into married life.  She wanted to have some shots taken of her in her beautiful wedding dress with her horse, Prince.  She's had Prince since she was a little girl.

I'm not ready for wedding photography yet, but I really loved the post (or pre, if anyone is interested) wedding session.  Maybe on the beach, with pets, on a motorcycle...the possibilities are endless!!  Plus, what bride wouldn't want to get dressed up again?

My Littles

I took my kids to a local park to photograph them for Easter (yes, I'm behind in my blogging).  They were cooperative this time, which made my job super easy.

These two can be the best of friends!

 My sweet beauty.
She had a scratch on her face from our cat.  Some photographers would have edited that out.  That's what she looked like at that particular moment.  It certainly doesn't take away from her gorgeous face, so I left it.

This boy is too cool for school!

 Love!

 Mr. Serious

Jumping across the suspension bridge!

I'm so proud of these two little people!
Thanks for letting me show them off.

21st Annual Chef's Gala

Back in March, I was contacted by The Heart of Florida United Way.  They were requesting my photography services for the 21st Annual Chef's Gala at Walt Disney World's EPCOT.  They were asking for ME!!!  My services!!!  After taking some time to think about it (I was a nervous wreck)...and taking some more time to recruit one of my best friends (who also happens to be a photographer) I said yes.

On May 4th, after weeks of planning, conference calling, looking at schematics of the venue, Xibel (of http://www.bellaanaphotography.com) and I met each other in the EPCOT parking lot.  From there we started our whirlwind of a night.

The venue was beautiful.  If you've ever been to EPCOT, there are some large doors next to Canada.  Of course, from inside the park, they are decorated like Canada, so you don't really notice them.  Those doors opened up to a red carpet entrance.  The red carpet led to the venue.  Inside housed all of the chef's stations, a stage, dance floor, tables, and beautiful displays.

 The opening ceremony.
Simon Hemus, President/COO of Tupperware Brands Corporation
Dr. Antonia Novella, Executive Director, Public Health Policy, Florida Hospital
George Kalogridis, President of Walt Disney World Resort

The entertainment was fantastic!  The singer and her band did a great job of entertaining everyone.

One of the delicious desserts presented.  There were so many!!

Lots of wine was consumed...and it was tasty!!

One of the many delicious entrees that were cooked at each of the chef's stations.

Interviews at the red carpet entrance.

Guests on the red carpet.

Greg Warmoth, of WFTV News, emceed the event.

The dance floor was packed the entire night!!

A view of one of the silent auction tables.  There were hundreds of items for the guests to bid on.

A toast to the chef's at the end of the night.  They were wonderful and we all got a taste (pun intended) of their wonderful work!!

The night was truly a wonderful evening.  Xibel and I were on the go for the majority of the night.  We did take a few minutes to sit and sample some of the delicious fare that was offered.  One of the best parts about this event, for me at least, was the fact that I learned so much.  I learned many new photography tricks, organizational skills, logistical tips, and that octopus doesn't taste that bad.

On a serious note, this event raised $296,000.  The Heart of Florida United Way will use this money to provide health and human services to our community.  I was truly honored to be a part of that.  Me!!

Please take a look at their website and maybe consider donating a few dollars!!
